| Stephen Edwards joined the DSO in 1972 after a season as principal bass of the Louisville Orchestra. He is a native of New Jersey and a graduate of The Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia.
Currently residing in Sterling Heights, Stephen enjoys running and biking as well as an occasional game of golf. In quiet times he has an avid interest in psychology, history and politics. In former years, Stephen had a significant affiliation with Young Audiences Inc.as both performer and executive director. His interest in the double bass also included amassing a large collection of double basses and trading them around the world. Mr. Edwards has two daughters and eight wonderful grandchildren. |
