New York Women’s Ensemble, November 29, 2011 at 8:00 PM in Carnegie Hall, NYC
Caroline Coade, MDSO violist, will travel to NYC to join an elite international group of 50 women to perform in an all-women’s chamber orchestra, called “New York Women’s Ensemble.”

On Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 2 pm, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra Acting Principal Second Violin, Adam Stepniewski will be hosted by Tim Burke on “Live From Studio A” on Interlochen Public Radio 88.7 FM, 88.9 FM and 100.9 FM and will be broadcast live online.

MDSO coached hundreds of students Saturday in Civic sectional rehearsals at Orchestra Hall. Ted Oien – clarinet, Haden McKay – cello, Corbin Wagner – French horn, Marian Tanau – violin and Shelley Heron – oboe were among more than a dozen DSO musicians who led all-day classes, helping student prepare their repertoire for their upcoming concerts in November. Flutist Jeffery Zook will join Charles Greenwell and the Southern Great Lakes Symphony (SGLS) in a performance of two great flute concerti. Mr. Zook will present a master class at 1:00 pm prior to the concert.
