In 2005, as a memorial to Lew Waldeck, long-time musicians’ union activist and 1983-1994 Director of AFofM Symphonic Services, “The Lew Waldeck Fund” was established through the agency of Live Music Awareness, a Honolulu-based musicians’ support organization with AFofM affiliations. With the passing in October, 2011, of Leonard Leibowitz, legendary negotiating attorney and ICSOM counsel for more than thirty years, Live Music Awareness has renamed the fund, “The Lew/Lenny Legacy Fund,” thus honoring the memory of both these formidable advocates of the rights and interests of professional musicians.
Tax deductible donations to this 501(c)(3) charitable fund will be utilized to fund “progressive union activities and projects within the symphonic and labor communities.”
Those who would like to contribute to The Lew/Lenny Legacy Fund should make any checks payable to Live Music Awareness, and send them to the following address:
Live Music Awareness, c/o Musicians’ Association of Hawaii, 949 Kapiolani Boulevard, Honolulu, Hawaii 96814
Contributions can also be accepted via credit card or PayPal.
